GOODALL
I
have been a volunteer at Hospital Radio Hillingdon for almost a
year. I decided to join after spending many hours at home listening
to the radio and wishing I could create a programme of my own. I'm
also addicted to music and built up a massive CD collection and
thought I should share my passion for a wide variety of tunes. It's
a great opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes too with
radio production and editing shows.

I record
the local news once every five weeks which is broadcast to patients twice
a day Monday-Friday. I am studying for an MA in Journalism and have written
a couple of articles about the broadcast marathon to help support the
fundraising events.
I also enjoy going "Out and About" around the wards to ask patients
for record requests with Steve Hickman and Katie Gaskell on Sunday night's
with the microphone to play the patient's requests on air. I have also
helped to co-present the Wednesday night show with Raymond Jackson.
It's great fun volunteering and taking part in the social events such
as quiz nights and Chinese buffets. You also get to go out on the road
and have the opportunity to meet lots of people when supporting local
causes.
